Because the little things matter

ICEA Dual Certification

Double the skills. Double the impact.

Why choose between being a Birth Doula or a Childbirth Educator when you can be both?

With ICEAโ€™s Dual Certification, youโ€™ll gain the knowledge to teach and the skills to support, empowering families from their very first class to their very first contractions. This is your chance to expand your reach, deepen your expertise, and become the all-in-one birth professional families trust.

Key Elements:

  • Comprehensive live training workshops (offered virtually or in-person), providing deep and broad learning.
  • A rigorous, evidence-based curriculum, covering both birth education and doula support.
  • Mentorship and guidance from ICEA trainers during workshop.

What is a Dual Certification?

It’s a combined credential from ICEA that certifies an individual as both a Certified Birth Doula and a Certified Childbirth Educator. This means youโ€™re trained not only to provide hands-on support during labor but also to teach expecting families through childbirth preparation. It’s the perfect pairing to walk with families through the entire pregnancy.

Why should you choose to become dual certified?

  • Youโ€™ll have a broader skill set, combining education and practical support.
  • It aligns with ICEAโ€™s goal to ensure practitioners have both strong knowledge and hands-on service capabilities.
  • You’ll be better equipped to meet families’ needs holistically.
